For a new cat
What are 3 signs your cat is ready for the next room?
Do not open the rest of the home on a fixed day. Use what this cat is doing.
Look for three signs. They leave the hiding place on their own. They find food, water, and litter. They rest or play in the open.
When those show up together, open one door and stay nearby. If they go back to the hide, leave the quiet room open.
Before they go through that door, pick up string, loose cords, and small things they can chew. If a plant is still in the room, check it before you leave it there.
After that room is set, use Borzi to check the space you have. A small bathroom and a spare bedroom do not need the same setup.
The 3 signs
- They leave the hiding place on their own.
- They find food, water, and litter.
- They rest or play in the open.
- Open one door. Keep the rest of the home closed.
- If they go back to the hide, leave the quiet room open.
- In Borzi, check the next space after it is set.
Look closer if
- They will not drink.
- They will not eat at all.
- You can see an injury.
Ask a vet if one of these shows up. This is not a diagnosis.
The answer stays free. Borzi keeps the note with your cat and can check the space you have. It does not decide the room is safe.
