For a kitten
Why hasn't my new kitten pooped?
Moving home is stressful. It is common for a kitten's digestion to pause for the first 24 hours.
If they have not used the litter box yet, keep a low-sided box in a quiet, easy spot. Feed the same food they ate before they came home. A diet change now will only upset the stomach more.
Note when they last pooped and peed. That timeline matters if you need to call a vet.
Look closer if
- They strain in the box and nothing comes out.
- A second day passes with no poop.
- They vomit.
- They refuse to eat.
- They have not urinated at all. Call a vet right now.
Ask a vet if one of these shows up. This is not a diagnosis.
Add your kitten for age-specific guidance
The answer stays free. Borzi can log litter box visits with your kitten so you know when a miss started. It does not decide they are constipated.
