For a kitten
How much weight should a kitten gain each week?
There is no single magic number on the scale.
Many young kittens gain about 70 to 100 grams (roughly 2.5 to 3.5 ounces) per week. Age, breed, frame, and birth weight all change what normal looks like.
What matters more is the trend: this week should weigh more than last week if they are on track.
Use the same scale, on the same day, at roughly the same time. A kitchen scale with a tare bowl works well.
A kitten who eats well, uses the litter box, plays in short bursts, and gains week over week is usually on track. Borzi can store the weights and show the curve. It will not tell you the gain is healthy.
Look closer if
- Weight stays flat week to week.
- Weight drops.
- They skip meals and seem unusually tired.
Ask a vet if one of these shows up. This is not a diagnosis.
The answer stays free. Borzi keeps weekly weights with your kitten and can export a summary for checkups. It does not set a target gain.
