For a kitten
Kitten weight chart by week
Weigh on the same scale once a week. The bands below are a rough reference. Your kitten does not have to sit on the line.
A kitten weight chart by week is a reference, not a pass line. Breed, frame, and birth weight move the number.
Use the same scale, about once a week, around the same time of day. Then look at this week next to last week.
Many young kittens gain about 70 to 100 grams a week. A week that is flat, or a drop, is the change to notice.
Borzi can store the weights and put them next to a breed curve. It will not tell you the kitten is on the chart.
Rough chart by week
- Newborn: often about 80–120 g.
- 1 week: often about 150–250 g.
- 2 weeks: often about 250–400 g.
- 4 weeks: often about 400–550 g.
- 8 weeks: often about 800–1,000 g, near 2 lb.
- After that, weekly gain matters more than a printed line.
Look closer if
- Weight stays flat week to week.
- Weight drops.
- They skip meals and seem unusually tired.
Ask a vet if one of these shows up. This is not a diagnosis.

Growth
Many kittens gain about 70 to 100 grams per week, but the trend matters more than one number. Weigh on the same scale, same day each week.
