For a kitten
Why does my kitten bite my hands?
Hands as toys teach biting. Fast fingers move like prey, so the kitten treats skin as part of the game.
When teeth touch skin, the game ends. Freeze. Stand up. Offer a wand toy so your hand stays out of it.
Do not punish the bite. A tap on the nose or a shout does not teach a new toy.
If they still need a game that is not your hands, use Borzi to find play that fits the space you have. A small room and a long hallway do not need the same activity.
What to do
- Stop moving the hand.
- Stand up and end the game.
- Offer a wand toy. Keep skin out of reach.
- In Borzi, check the room for play that fits that space.
Look closer if
- The bite shows up with hiding.
- They skip meals.
- They will not let you touch one spot.
Ask a vet if one of these shows up. This is not a diagnosis.
Add your kitten for age-specific guidance
The answer stays free. Borzi keeps the note with your kitten and can suggest play that fits the room you have. It does not decide why the kitten bit.
